Ref #: PTR10/845 Location: Midlands Description: Control Software Engineer - Materials Handling and Automation Solutions Salary: to £33k plus benefits + overtime Our client is renowned globally as a market leader in materials handling solutions, providing bespoke solutions from concept design through to manufacture and simulated operation prior to delivery, installation and commissioning within customers' facilities worldwide. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit enthusiastic and experienced Controls Engineers to compliment the existing team. Reporting to Lead CE&I Engineer, the successful candidates will be responsible for the delivery of the high integrity and complex control systems to Customer and Industry Specifications, within budgetary and programme timescale constraints.
You will have broad experience in the design of complex systems in machine control applications and plant wide automation, and whilst experience in the Nuclear Industry would be an advantage, this is not an essential requirement. You must however be capable of producing technical & functional specifications and developing control systems from conceptual design through to final design, installation and commissioning stages, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communications skills with excellent analytical, design and problem solving skills, and be committed to maintaining high quality standards.
You will therefore demonstrate skills and proficiency in the use and implementation of Modicon and Siemens PLC software (although other platforms will of course be considered) and SCADA systems (FactoryLink and Citec) with knowledge of AutoCAD 2004 and Promis-e, with knowledge of Safety Standard IEC 61508 being distinctly advantageous although again, not essential.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a fast paced and technically challenging team based environment, so if you feel you have the relevant skills and experience and are keen to work within the ever expanding Nuclear sector, then contact The Nuclear Team on 01827 68400 or send your cv in the strictest confidence to
