Ref #: PTR08/380 Location: Coventry, West Midlands Description: Systems Integration Solutions Salary: to £32k plus benefits and overtime Our client has been established for more than 30 years, and provides highest quality bespoke systems integration service solutions to a wide range of industrial market sectors. Regarded in the industry as a market leader in the design and implementation of HMI, SCADA, CIM, MES and specific integration of control systems and materials handling solutions to a diverse customer base, as a result of continued success and a planned programme of ongoing strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, articulate and self motivated Systems Engineer experienced in MCC/ICA panel design to compliment their existing successful team.
To be considered for this challenging and diverse opportunity, the successful candidate will demonstrate skills and experience in the use of AutoCAD (Electrical), Promis-E and EPLAN, although actual design experience is more crucial than the specific packages used and alternatives will of course be considered.
Whilst the role is predominantly office based, there will be occasions where travel to site surveys and site meetings with clients will inevitably arise so flexibility is essential.
Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be responsible for the development and successful implementation of cost effective control solutions for projects that satisfy customer requirements whilst complying with relevant legislation and are delivered both on time and within budget.
With the main focus of the role concentrating on the detailed design, specification, implementation and FAT testing of the controls solutions, you will additionally attend design review meetings and submit designs for approval, following projects through from specification through to successful on site commissioning and SAT testing of solutions, and will therefore demonstrate extensive understanding of the Systems Integration business and the commercial impact of design decisions. Additionally, you can look forward to becoming involved in a range of tendering activities, supporting the Sales division in the development of robust and cost effective controls solutions, as well as providing Emergency Breakdown Support to customers when required and undertaking Systems Development work whilst working closely with the Senior Systems Team when required.
The successful candidate will ideally posses a relevant degree qualification (Electrical / Systems / Software discipline) and at least 1 years commercial experience gained in an automation, materials handling, utility industry, FMCG or automotive environment, although and HNC/HND and at least 4 years similar industry experience will also be favourably considered. Experience of a similar design type role in a systems integration environment would be distinctly advantageous, as would knowledge of specifications, design using CAD, installation and commissioning of equipment and CDM, CE, PUWER and HSAW.
Additionally, the ability to demonstrate problem solving skills and an innovative approach to solutions coupled with the communication skills required to influence both internal and external contacts will prove invaluable to the position.
