Controls Design and Project Engineer - East Midlands to £38k plus benefits

Description: Experienced Controls Engineers required to devise automated materials handling solutions from concept through to handover.

Our client is renowned as a global market leader in the supply of bespoke materials handling solutions for a diverse range of applications, and as a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, the company are now seeking to recruit a team of enthusiastic, dynamic and self motivated Controls Design and Commissioning engineers to compliment the existing team.

 
Successful candidates will be responsible for the design and commission of a range of control systems allied to materials handling systems projects of up to £1m each time with project lifecycles averaging between 6 to 12 months, and will be tasked with the design, plan and development of control systems for the company range of projects. You will produce accurate and complete specifications, cost forecasts and time plans for each assigned project and ensure the on time, within budget delivery of the control systems to specification.
 
Additionally, you will prepare and issue engineering information that facilitates the purchase, manufacture and assembly of company control systems as well as developing, testing and commissioning PLC control software, following projects through to control system commissioning on site and providing information to enable the production of associated operation, maintenance and parts manuals for customers and end users respectively. You will also be tasked with investigating and correcting on site problems with electrical/ electronic hardware/software and supporting the development of standards relating to control systems including the evaluation of new electrical developments, concepts and components where appropriate.
 
To be considered for these exceptional opportunities that offer exceptional benefits and the opportunity to work for an industry recognized market leader, it is essential that you be able to demonstrate at least 5 years experience in the use of either Siemens or Rockwell PLC’s and be flexible to follow projects through to sites across the UK, so a full driving licence is also a prerequisite for the position. Whilst knowledge of the warehousing, distribution centre, automated materials handling systems and heavy lifting sector would prove to be advantageous, applications are welcomed form individuals seeking to utilise their experience gained in other sectors able to demonstrate suitable communication skills and enthusiasm in a challenging and diverse environment.
