The client design, develop, manufacture and market aerospace products allied to both the defence and civil sectors globally, and as a result of continued success and a strategic programme of planned growth for 2009, four new positions of Control Account Manager – dynamic and highest calibre Project Managers - have been created to oversee delivery of the latest multi million pound project to a large UK customer.
The roles will suit individual who possess practical experience and proven capability in running complex multi-disciplinary projects within the aerospace and/or defence sector, combining significant project management capability and business knowledge to manage and effectively lead a Project Team. Operationally, role success is measured against your ability to deliver a project that fully satisfies the commitments placed on the business, maximises profit and margin, and generates stakeholder satisfaction with and confidence in our client.
As a Control Account Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:
· Accountable for the delivery of business, customer and stakeholder objectives throughout all phases of a project
· Act as a conduit for information flow, encouraging communication and data sharing across the Project Team and any supporting areas of the business/ other stakeholders
· Championing and demonstrating behaviours to foster a partnered approach throughout the stakeholder community
· Forming and leading a high performing Control Account Team including members from the MoD, Suppliers and internal customers
· Managing the Control Account Team interface with the MoD and where appropriate integrating MoD representatives into your areas of responsibility
· Providing project information to the Systems Engineering Management Team
· Working with the senior team members and other Control Account Project Managers to enable the overall programme to be managed effectively and successfully
· Ensuring that resource requirements for the Control Accounts are identified and resolved
· Managing performance of a number of Work Packages against their objectives,
· Leading cross-functional teams responsible for delivering their defined scope of work.
· Identifying and managing the interfaces between Control Accounts and mitigating risks that fall across or between Control Accounts
· Reviewing change requests and ensure that all necessary information is provided to enable appropriate decisions making
To be considered for these challenging positions, it is essential that you demonstrate proven Programme and Project Management Skills – (EVM, Risk Analysis etc) as well as practical experience gained within the Aerospace/Defence industry. An understanding and the ability to effectively manage cross functional processes is paramount, as is both Commercial and Financial awareness and understanding (T&Cs, Licences etc). To be successful in the role, you will demonstrate skills and behaviours to promote effective partnered working relationships and excellent communication and inter personal skills, with a flexible and tenacious approach and a genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.
