Senior EC&I Engineer – East Midlands -– to £35k + benefits
Our client is renowned as a market leader in the supply of engineering solutions allied to the Nuclear sector, and as a result of continuing success and a planned program of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit a number of Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation engineers who are keen to pursue a career in this challenging and specialist market sector and carry out electrical design of specialist equipment to meet customer’s requirements in line with budgets and timescale constraints.
Working closely with internal Project Manager’s and customer technical representatives, the successful candidate will be responsible for a diverse range of challenging and technically demanding activities including supporting the tender and bid generation process and upon contract award, producing electrical system circuit design schemes and developing electrical system from design concepts to the complete design. Additionally you will carry out design reviews and become extensively involved in the specification and selection of major components whilst liaising closely with sub-contractors and suppliers respectively, generating test specifications and overseeing approval tests as well as specifying and support the installation and commissioning of equipment.
To be considered for this challenging position within an internationally renowned blue chip organisation, you will demonstrate experience of design or application engineering of industrial control systems gained with the Nuclear or other safety critical environment, and be capable of developing bespoke solutions to specific needs. Additionally, you will possess experience of electrical systems design and component/sub-systems specification and have had exposure to a broad range of applications, with responsibility for requirement definition, products/components evaluation and selection, with an essential understanding of the electro-mechanical point of interface and experience of working within a ISO 9001:2000 environment.
You will additionally demonstrate a strong interest and enthusiasm for innovative electrical engineering design and strong presentation skills as the role necessitates typically technical presentations to customers – with knowledge and experience of both electrical and C & I system design and integration proving to be distinctly advantageous.
