Electronic / Mechanical Systems Engineer - Bristol to £25k

Description: Our client is seeking to recruit a dynamic and self motivated Electronic / Mechanical Systems Engineer to undertake R&D support activities within a Communications and Sensors Division of an internationally renowned organisation.

Salary: to £25k

The successful candidate will undertake a wide variety of electro-mechanical tasks generated within, and from outside of, the Department, and will therefore be skilled in the use of electronic construction and assembly tooling for R&D equipment production as well as in the use of mechanical tooling – both hand tools and machine power tools including competency at turning, milling, drilling and grinding, for small scale equipment production.
Additionally, you will be responsible for the design, build and test of prototype electronic and mechanical equipment and ancillary hardware in support of contract, project and AR tasks, and will be available to attend Trials and support In-Service equipment when required so a flexible approach is essential. You will additionally be tasked with ensuring departmental test equipment is calibrated and will meet task requirements to time and budget, ensuring the robustness of design solutions and build quality and reporting activities via log book records, technical drawings and/or input to technical design records.
To be considered for this varied and challenging opportunity, you will ideally be qualified to HNC/HTEC level in a relevant discipline ie: Electronics/Electrical Engineering and demonstrate skills in the use of electronic equipment for build and test and in the use of hand tools and powered machine tools. A Team Player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will also possess strong Commercial and financial awareness and be able to manage your own work packages as well as be able to deal with multiple issues, tasks and concurrent priorities.
