Ref: PTR10/807 Location: West Midlands Description: Business development professional required with experience of overseas sales allied to the construction or automation sectors Salary: Negotiable dependant upon experience - c£50k plus Our client is a globally renowned market leading specialist manufacturer of products for the building automation market, who export 70% of their production from their niche product portfolio, and who as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, are seeking to recruit a dynamic, self motivated and highly proactive Business Development professional to compliment and coordinate the activities of an established and successful sales team.
Reporting to the Managing Director and liaising directly with the Product Development Manager, the successful candidate will take full responsibility of the dedicated and committed Sales Team, and will create the Marketing Strategy for the business to grow it from its present size just under £2M t/o to £5M in the next 5 years.
You will be tasked with all aspects of the recruitment, management and development of the Sales Team, ensuring the most effective use of their time and implementing the marketing plan whilst maintaining key accounts and optimising new business opportunities for best results, undertaking structured market research to identify such opportunities and new areas for product development.
Additionally, you will autonomously control the launch of new products ensuring they reach the market on time and the associated pricing structure to ensure achievement of required gross margin, as well as preparing sales and marketing budgets and reporting on KPI’s.
To be considered for this exceptional opportunity, you will demonstrate a proven successful senior sales and marketing background and the ability to both control a business and grow a market – realistically gained over at least a 10 year period and allied to a construction, building products or engineering background.
You will be both culturally and commercially aware and appreciative of the need to complete projects in a timely and effective manner, and will therefore possess at least one other European language and be used to undertaking global travel on a regular basis where flexibility is key. You will additionally be able to show considerable previous success in securing, developing and managing key accounts on a multiple project basis, and be capable of arranging and supporting exhibition stands again on a global basis.
Have you got the essential proven sales and negotiating skills required to be successful in this role and to close the deal?
