Ref: PTR10/802 Location: East Midlands Description: Experienced project design engineer required to work on Solidworks designing bespoke automation products for global supply Salary:to £28,000 plus benefits Mechanical Project Design (Solidworks) Engineer c£28k + benefits Midlands Our client is a globally renowned market leading specialist manufacturer of products for the building automation market, exporting 70% of their production from their niche product portfolio globally, and who as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, are seeking to recruit a dynamic, self motivated and highly accomplished Mechanical Project Design professional to compliment the existing established and successful design team.
This newly created position is key to the ongoing expansion of the design department, and the successful candidate will provide engineering expertise to projects from initial concept and customer liaison through to production manufacture – producing engineering drawings in Solidworks (3D) and Autocad (2D) to generate specifications for the mechanical design and development of bespoke innovative products including mechanisms and systems.
Experience in the use of Solidworks is therefore an ESSENTIAL requirement, as is experience of previously working in a mechanical design engineering team environment, and you will confidently demonstrate experience in the associated build and running of test rigs to assist with the development of products, working between the design office and development areas of the business. Additionally, there will be occasions where you will be required to undertake on site training to customers in the UK and globally for short periods of time, so customer facing communication skills are of paramount importance also.
Both meticulous and proud in your work, you will possess a minimum of an HND in Mechanical Engineering and will ideally have gained at least 3 years experience within a design environment working on metal parts, machined components and associated plastic injection moulded items from concept to manufacture.
