Acting as an interface between the customer and the engineering team, the successful candidate will have a good understanding of the dimensional control techniques to be deployed, the achievable accuracy and the environmental constraints required in their use, with the primary function of the role being the production of work packages for inspection activities. The work package will be typical of the new Work Control requirement including interface documents, specifications, drawings, method statements, record sheets, safety case and risk assessments, and will be driven by program requirement and complied with support from Client, Section Leader and Chief Inspector. Communication will be a key requirement and attendance of weekly planning/progress meetings will be required

 

To be considered for this challenging position, the successful candidate will need to have a good understanding of dimensional control techniques, the ability to produce and review accurate, appropriate method statements, risk assessments and other safety documentation, in order to prepare work packs and demonstrate a good track record of working within a maintenance and operational environment, particularly in the field of nuclear/power generation sectors. Additionally it is essential that you possess good communication and interpersonal skills, a strong focus on safety and quality and the willingness to be a Radiological and Beryllium worker.

 

A valid driving license and car insurance and the ability to both attain and maintain UK MoD security clearance for working on UK nuclear sites is essential.

 

You will ideally have completed a HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years experience, and will report to the Site Manager regarding site activities and programmes, liaising with Client Site Engineer’s as well as the design team on technical aspects, and will carry out supervisory duties whilst adhering to the SSoW and working within the clients work control arrangements.

 

You will liaise with personnel both internal and external to the company to ensure that the requirements of all parties are executed in a safe manner and to a high standard, and at all stages will ensure conformance to all local client and company procedures, including the relevant legislation. In a safety critical environment, adherence to policies and processes is essential – as is the ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a successful and established team.
