Ref: PTR10/822 Location: Derbyshire Description: Group Technical Director required to drive and coordinate the activities of a global innovative technology provider. Salary: £80,000 + 20% bonus + equity participation scheme
Our truly global client operates hundreds of its’ highest technology bespoke systems worldwide and are seeking to recruit an accomplished Group Technical Director to report directly to the CEO, and to spearhead technical development worldwide and deliver the next phase of their planned strategic program of growth. This business critical position will necessitate the successful candidate working within the business and market to identify and deliver new development, channel and product opportunities that drive increased sales and system performance, ensuring the organisations long term competitive advantage. You will agree and deliver, through system development and by working with the field engineering team, world class system performance and uptime standards and will additionally effectively plan and deliver (working with teams in each territory) the required system upgrade and new system rollout requirements, ensuring “right first time” standards are achieved.
Additionally, you will lead the common sourcing and design base for all systems worldwide, based on the single system standard and will manage the supplier base to maximise system performance and commercial benefits as well as both leading and motivating the R&D and production teams, (directly and indirectly), where located outside the UK.
To be considered for this exceptional opportunity, you will demonstrate significant presence and leadership skills, and the ability to command the respect and cooperation of both direct reports and other, geographically remote staff as well as other partners. Additionally, it is essential that you possess the ability to see the commercial advantages in technical opportunities and to deliver the defined benefits at pace and within budget. Experience of working within a consumer focused R&D environment working with both hardware and software will prove to be of particular relevance (knowledge of the C++, C# and .net programming environments would prove distinctly advantageous) alongwith highly developed planning skills and a track record of developing and delivering projects on schedule are considered critical for this key role.
