Reliability and Maintainability Engineer - South West - to £31k + benefits

Description: Reliability and Maintainability Engineer to compliment the activities of a busy team, tasked with providing Reliability and Maintainability Engineering knowledge, skills and support to ensure the effective and timely delivery of a range of tasks and projects. The successful candidate will be charged with the delivery products and services that meet fully business and customer needs, and will undertake the day to day discharge of Reliability and Maintainability Engineering activities.

Salary: £27k - £31k dependant upon experience

Our client design, develop, manufacture and market aerospace products for all sectors globally, and as a result of continued success and a strategic programme of planned growth for 2010, have created a new position of Reliability and Maintainability Engineer to compliment the activities of a busy team, tasked with providing Reliability and Maintainability Engineering knowledge, skills and support to ensure the effective and timely delivery of a range of tasks and projects. The successful candidate will be charged with the delivery products and services that meet fully business and customer needs, and will undertake the day to day discharge of Reliability and Maintainability Engineering activities that meet the needs and requirements of both customers and the organisation as a whole.

Additionally, you will use your knowledge and applicable techniques to provide expert support in the following disciplines:

• Reliability Analysis, FME(C)A & Safety Analysis.
• Reliability Centred Maintenance Analysis (MSI, SSI, Zonal and CMR)
• Maintainability & Testability Analysis.
• R&M input to Design.
• Data Recording, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (DRACAS).
• R&M Case, R&M Qualification, R&M SRD and R&M Vendor Specification

You will maintain appropriate contact with relevant stakeholders and seek to develop an effective relationship with them during the course of the task or project being discharged, whilst liaising with other employees from other areas of the business whenever possible and appropriate, to better understand their perceptions and expectations of your output and performance. You will agree task or project activities with your team leader, ensuring that where appropriate, timescales and outputs are achievable within the available budgets and resources and are consistent with the scope of the deliverable, and to be considered for this exceptional opportunity, you will ideally be educated to at least HND level in a relevant aviation/engineering related subject and/or have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship followed by a period of employment in all aspects of aircraft maintenance and overhaul, sufficient to gain the necessary practical experience for the job role.

Significant, relevant practical experience of the required aspects of Reliability, Maintainability, Testability and Reliability Centred Maintenance Techniques and Analysis as well as the associated activities relating to DRACAS, R&M Case, Safety Analysis and ILS will prove advantageous, as will a demonstrable understanding of the requirements of the generally acknowledged international R&M standards used in the aerospace industry. You should also have general knowledge/experience of airworthiness, flight safety requirements, company engineering organisation, quality processes, operating procedures and drawing systems.

Effective communication skills and PC skills are essential for this role as are good interpersonal skills, and the ability to make sound technical assessments/judgements based on knowledge and experience, self motivated and able to work as part of an integrated team.
