Ref: PTR10/860 Location: Oxfordshire Description: Graduate engineer required to compliment the activities of a professional team committed to the design, development and implementation of automated materials handling solutions for supply throughout the UK and Europe. Salary: to £23k plus benefits (negotiable dependant upon experience) Our client specialises in the design, development and implementation of automated materials handling solutions for supply throughout the UK and Europe, and as a result of an ongoing programme of planned strategic growth, a new permanent position has been created for an enthusiastic and highly self motivated Graduate Simulation Engineer and Data Analyst to compliment an established and successful team. Reporting to the Simulation Manager, the successful candidate will develop skills in the analysis of customer data, and the modelling, configuration and testing of materials handling solution simulation to an agreed specification and time scale to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers. You will perform analysis on the customer product and order profile data, and will re-work customer data in line with the needs of the proposed material handling solution, before present data analysis output as directed by the Simulation Section Leader and project sales team.
Additionally, you will build accurate system models of the project sales material handling solution and update / generate optional designs as directed, whilst updating / refining the system model in line with proposed and final design details using standard mechanical / controls models in the creation of the system model. You will also use accurate control and WCS algorithms and strategies within the model as designed by the project sales and engineering teams, and run “set piece” scenarios to prove system performance and present as necessary both internally and externally, as well as running simulations of all major acceptance test scenarios as defined with the Controls Project Manager and Simulation Team Leader. You will also produce a monthly simulation report on each project highlighting status, timescale, resource and technical concerns and give early warnings of potential problems highlighted during the simulation process.
The successful candidate will liaise with all internal departments and will work closely with the Controls Project Manager during the implementation and testing phase, and provide support to any department when required, using wherever possible standard simulation model elements for the execution of orders (pallet conveyor / case conveyor / sorter / cranes etc), although where necessary, developing special and new simulation model elements to suit specific projects and new markets.
To be considered for this genuinely fantastic opportunity, you will possess a relevant engineering degree (with at least some controls software module experience) and ideally 2 years post study commercial experience gained within an engineering environment. A full driving license and excellent communication skills are essential for this position.Call Premier Technical Recruitment on 01827 68400 or email your cv to
