Description: Experienced systems integration professional required to ensure the smooth integration of all sub systems within multi million pound materials handling and automation project solutions.

Salary: to £37,500 plus benefits

Our client specialise in the design, development and implementation of automated materials handling solutions for supply throughout the UK and Europe, and are seeking to recruit an experienced and highly capable Systems Integration Manager to compliment the existing department.

You will be responsible for ensuring all sub-systems supplied within a project solution are correctly integrated, and this incorporates responsibility for the system scope, functionality and acceptance testing, ranging from material handling equipment controllers through to logistics software systems and interfacing to other software systems. This will include:

• Interpreting and developing customer requirements into FDS and approving Control Sub-system Specifications as applicable
• Approving / producing interface specifications for all control sub-systems and producing integration specifications to complement high level logistic system FDS
• Ensuring customer requirements are met according to the contract whilst keeping the Project Management team appraised of status at regular intervals
• Acting as the company focal point internally, for subcontractors and for the Customer, on all systems integration related matters.
• Producing and maintaining documents and plans, detailing the project integration timetable and deadlines, resource & test requirements and project methodologies, whilst ensuring the correct level of effort and resource is allocated to contracts
• Preparing monthly reports detailing progress against plans, resource requirements and potential problems
• Developing and verifying specifications produced by others for FAT and SAT Tests as well as “on Completion” and Performance Tests
• Managing, executing & attending all test activities and ensuring results are properly recorded and published

To be considered for this challenging but highly exciting opportunity, you will be qualified to at least HND level in a relevant engineering discipline, and will demonstrate previous experience allied to the design of warehouse management software and / or control systems in the automated materials handling industry.

Additionally, you will possess proven Project Management abilities and exceptional communication skills to ensure effective communication with both internal and external customer project teams, as well as an organised and methodical “attention to detail” approach.
Whilst home based there will be occasions where trips to HO are required (at least 1 day a week), and critically, due to the responsibility of all commissioning and test activities on completion, you could be expected to work from customer sites for approximately 3 – 6 months towards the end of a project at sites that can be in the UK and Europe so a flexible approach is key.
