Quality Engineer (Automotive) - South Wales - to £30k + benefits

Description: Enthusiastic and highly articulate and self motivated Quality Engineer with demonstrable automotive experience required to work within a similarly professional and committed manufacturing team.

Salary: to £30k plus benefits

Our globally renowned client specialise in the design, volume manufacture and marketing of highest technology components and systems globally allied to the aerospace, engines and exhaust system markets, and as a result of the recent decision to bring manufacturing back to the UK, are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly self motivated Quality professional to compliment the established and growing team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for plant quality activities relating to both current and new products, and will be fully conversant with Automotive Quality and Environmental Management systems ISO9001:2000, TS16949 and ISO14001 as well as demonstrating a working knowledge of various quality tools such as 5 why, Ishikawa, SPC, root cause analysis and also competent in accurately completing dimensional reports and capability studies.

You will be tasked with a range of duties that will include (but not be limited to)

 

·          Assisting all APQP projects and PPAP’s for customer approval

·          Evaluating non-confirming material, e.g. internal, customer and supplier

·          Undertaking Process and system audits

·          Supporting SQA activities, with the emphasis on developing potential new low cost solution suppliers

·          Developing suppliers -  this function is important for 2010 as the Company are intending to source a significant amount of new components, therefore travel will be required

·          Leading 5S and 8D meetings and activities

·          Developing and monitor supplier performance

·          Monitoring and tracking warranty claims

 

To be considered for this exceptional and challenging opportunity, successful candidates will be qualified to at least HND level and time served with previous hands on experience of working with an automotive quality environment, with CMM experience proving distinctly advantageous.
