Description: Enthusiastic and self motivated Mechanical Design Engineering professional required to work on the design and development of automation and special purpose machinery allied to the FMCG sector.

Salary: to £28k plus benefits 

Our client are recognised as market leaders in the design and manufacture of heat sealing equipment allied to the FMCG sector, and as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly self motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to compliment the activities of their established and successful team developing a range of system solutions complimenting an already impressive product portfolio.

To be considered for this exciting and genuinely challenging position, it is essential that you be able to demonstrate exhaustive draughting and design skills, and be skilled in utilising problem solving techniques in order to ensure project success. You will be able to provide evidence of taking concepts through to completion, applying engineering data (tolerances on drawings) and strong understanding of pneumatic components and their function, various manufacturing methods and proprietary mechanical components e.g. bearings.

You will be skilled in the use of the ProEngineer 3D CAD package and ideally qualified to at least HND or above in a relevant discipline (Mechanical Engineering or Design), and will additionally demonstrate impressive communication skills to undertake effective on site customer support and supplier liaison (for component specification), as well as an understanding of electrical components and their function, fabrication techniques and value engineering of components, with proven previous experience of Design for assembly and design of moving mechanisms, as well as the development of technical specifications and associated technical construction files.

Previous training undertaken in Health & Safety of Machinery, the application of tolerances (BS308) and Finite Element Analysis work will prove additionally advantageous.
