Ref: PTR10/910 Location: Essex based when not commissioning Globally Description: Our client specialize in the design and supply of equipment used in the treatment of domestic and industrial water and wastewater, and are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible Electrically biased Global Installation and Commissioning Engineer to undertake electrical and control testing, commissioning and site supervision on a significantly overseas biased range of assignments. Salary:to £30k basic + extensive expenses and allowances Our client specialize in the design and supply of equipment used in the treatment of domestic and industrial water and wastewater, and as a result of recent positive restructuring and a series of strategic acquisitions, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible Electrically biased Global Installation and Commissioning Engineer to undertake electrical and control testing, commissioning and site supervision on a significantly overseas biased range of assignments.
The successful candidate will liaise closely with the customer, customer’s representatives, sub-contractors, suppliers and internal departments during the installation and on site testing phase of project execution, and both manage and issue to relevant parties relevant electrical documents including control philosophies, FDS’s, PID’s, GA’s, load schedules and wiring schematics. You will carry out site inspections and commissioning as required, monitoring progress of electrical works and ensuring deliverability as well as completing Commissioning documents and Site Acceptance Testing.
Additionally, you will modify documents to “as installed status” when appropriate, supervise contractors on site and manage their timesheets, prepare and maintain the Site Installation / Commissioning Plan (MS Project schedule) and resource schedules as well as maintaining site report logs and relevant project Risk Registers. You will control the flow of documentation to and from customer post hand over from projects and for allocated projects - review and approval of key test documents including FAT and SAT protocols, checking electrical panels against company/contract specifications and undertaking snagging, fault-finding and problem resolution activities as well as carrying out Client training on site, Site wiring and termination and PLC troubleshooting with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC controllers.
To be considered for this exciting and varied new challenge, you will have achieved at least an HNC electrical/control engineering or equivalent and 17th Edition Wiring Regulations certification, and be a ccompetent user of AutoCAD, electrical designer or other electrical design software. Microsoft Office, Word & Excel, with experience of utilizing control instrumentation and PLC’s (Siemens, Rockwell/AB) and a general background in machine panel design and build. It is ESSENTIAL that you possess a full UK driving licence and be prepared to work away from home, both in the UK and overseas with minimal supervision.
