Our client specialises in the design, development and implementation of automation and materials handling solutions for supply throughout the UK and Europe, and as a result of an ongoing programme of planned strategic growth for 2010, a new permanent position has been created for an experienced and highly capable Projects and Enhancements Manager to coordinate all aspects of sales, estimating, design and Project Management of customer projects and enhancements including the achievement of agreed financial targets, promoting consistent standards and continuous improvement within the established and successful team.
The successful candidate will additionally be responsible for the allocation of project, design and Project Management resources to execute the departmental workload and the concepting and estimating of proposals, including preparation of quotations and presentations as well as the delegation of work both job related and job independent. You will review, check and approve documents originating from the Department, (i.e. drawings, calculations, requisitions, expenses, time sheets, etc) and manage the development and maintenance of procedures and standards to be used across multiple projects, promoting consistent standards and continuous improvement within the team whilst monitoring the performance of the individual team members and appraising direct subordinates accordingly.
The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving agreed financial targets, setting and monitoring cost centre finances and striving for continuous improvement in efficiency and profitability, whilst undertaking the Project Management of orders and managing contracts through to end of warranty period ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget and that they meet customers’ specification and company quality expectations. Previous experience of presenting accurate costing information (and predictions), dealing with customers on all contractual matters and both maintaining and implementing up to date project time schedules will prove distinctly advantageous. Additionally you will be responsible for specifying and triggering the procurement of equipment, products and services together with appropriate departments and creating appropriate handover documentation as well as the issue of monthly reports to inform the Company of progress against budget and programme, listing any cost variations, identifying significant problem areas and with update of payment schedule.
To be considered for this challenging position, you will demonstrate at least 5 years experience within the materials handling industry and a relevant engineering (Degree / HND) qualification. You will be conversant with AutoCAD, SAP, Word, Excel, Project and Outlook and demonstrate good communication skills and be a team oriented individual.
