Ref: PTR10/927 Location: West Midlands Description: Enthusiastic,self motivated and accomplished Mechanical Engineer required within a busy design consultancy specialising in bespoke automated manufacturing solutions for a range of market sectors. Salary: to £35k plus benefits Our client is renowned as a world leader in the competitive and technically demanding arena of special purpose machinery, a reputation attained as a result of consistent success in all areas of new product development, bespoke solutions for productivity improvement and constant manufacturing machinery design innovation. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, self motivated and accomplished Mechanical Engineer to compliment their existing team of engineering professionals.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will be able to demonstrate experience of providing specialist mechanical engineering expertise essential in the design and build of packaging machinery in order to ensure customer requirements are achieved.
You will be tasked with providing innovative engineering solutions from concept through to commissioning stage, and prototype to production, preparing associated mechanical design and test specifications, and supervising the mechanical function on machine builds whether in-house or carried out by contractors.
Additionally, you will be responsible for the production of mechanical documentation, i.e. parts list, manufacturing drawings and associated bill of materials, and liaise extensively with customers and suppliers at all stages of a project including test, installation and commissioning when required.
You will have achieved a relevant engineering qualification (Degree / HND), possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to demonstrate a range of design, build or test experience, and most importantly, be seeking an opportunity with a progressive organization that will empower and develop you over time.
To be considered for this exciting, highly challenging and diverse opportunity, you will ideally demonstrate a minimum of 5+ years’ experience of having worked within a mechanical engineering environment and possibly with or working towards chartered status, as well as innovative problem solving abilities together with a practical aptitude. Experience in mechanical systems or machine automation would prove to be distinctly advantageous.
