Ref: PTR10/973 Location: Greenwich, London Description: Site based Controls Engineer required to undertake a range of commissioning duties associated with saftey critical plant and equipment. As a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, reliable and highly self motivated on-site Commissioning Engineer to compliment the existing team.
Based at the Blackwall Tunnel in Greenwich, you will work on a permanent days - from Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm) basis and undertake a range of commissioning activities associated with safety critical plant and equipment, as well as providing M&E installation support, ensuring projects are delivered in a safe and timely manner in accordance with associated test documentation requirements and that safe working practices are adhered to alongwith with appropriate risk assessments being documented at every stage of the process. Additionally you will potentially provide “reactive emergency call out” cover if required.
You will be tasked with the identification of faults and problem areas and ensuring their prompt and accurate resolution, whilst creating supporting documentation to ensure compliance with internal business procedures, Quality and Legal requirements.
To be considered for this challenging opportunity you will demonstrate a multi discipline, electrically biased background, along with a flexible approach to undertaking multi skilled site engineering, having previously had exposure to electrical and control software systems (essential Schneider PLCs and SCADA experience), with knowledge of CCTV and PA Networks proving to be distinctly advantageous. You will also have ideally served a craft apprenticeship and be able to demonstrate experience of working in a similar electrical service environment. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to organise and influence are required for this position, as is a willingness to get involved and “hands-on”.
