Mechanical Design & Development Engineer – to £30k - Lincolnshire

Our client is renowned as one of the leading providers of material handling, sorting and order-picking solutions for the global warehouse and distribution markets. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, a position has arisen for a self motivated, enthusiastic and highly capable mechanical design engineer to compliment their existing design department.

The successful candidate will demonstrate skills and experience in the use of Solid Works and AutoCad for the 3D design of conveyor systems, producing detailed engineering designs from concept through to manufacture. You will design, develop and maintain standard and contract specific conveyor and materials handling products as requested, producing detailed engineering design drawings and specifying Bill Of Materials to facilitate the manufacture of the product in accordance with relevant standards, working as part of a team committed to ensuring products are delivered to scope, schedule and cost.

It is therefore essential that the successful candidate demonstrate excellent communication skills, the ability to perform appropriate tests, calculations and research during the development of a product to verify the design and component selections, and is able to provide technical assistance in the selection and validation of components from the supply chain team as well as to liaise effectively with both internal and external customers.

To be considered for this exceptional opportunity, the successful candidate will essentially possess a valid driving licence and passport, as occasion overseas and UK mainland trips will be required, and be able to demonstrate at least 3 years experience of undertaking design projects on comparable products. You will have experience in the selection and validation of components and comprehensive skills in the use of 3D product design tools.
