Description: Business Development professional required to drive global sales within a market leading plastic extrusion organisation.

Our client specialise in he manufacture of highest quality technical plastic extrusions for the rubber hose and wire and cable industries, and as a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, successful and dynamic global business development manager to complement the activities of their quarter century established team.

Based from Poole, Dorset where they manufacture products for a global customer base, many of which are multi-national companies, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for the sale of company key product lines into the rubber hose market globally.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be instrumental in the management of existing sales at key customers and more importantly, development of new sales at target customers located around the world., and whilst the role will include extensive travel globally (approx 50%), you will essentially be based at the facility in Poole, Dorset to ensure as close as possible liaison with colleagues.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of sales at both new and existing customers, managing existing customers and identifying new opportunities for growth at these accounts as well as developing sales strategies to support the company’s continued fast growth plan and developing accurate market data for the rubber hose market, and will additionally create annual sales budgets, implementing price increases when appropriate and constantly updating the competitive landscape.

To be considered for this varied and challenging role, you will demonstrate significant experience of business development with technical products, and be able to form strong professional relationships with all key decision makers at each customer/prospect. You will possess the ability to understand customer processes quickly alongwith strong commercial awareness, and it is envisaged you will have attained a degree-level education in a technical discipline (e.g. Chemistry or Chemical Engineering) as well as good PC skills (MS Office).
