Description: Mechanical Design Engineer with experience of 3D design using SolidWorks required for busy and successful design consultancy.

Our client specialise in the development of innovative laboratory preparatory process automation solutions, and as a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit a highly self motivated and driven technologist with demonstrable leadership skills to complement their established and successful team. 

You will be tasked with the design of modules as well as working closely with the product management team, and will undertake extensive 3D design work using SolidWorks as well as a range of problem solving activities, liaising with other members of the team and following projects through to assembly and test of the modules and the end product. To be considered for this varied and challenging role, you will be qualified to at least Degree level in a mechanical or design engineering related field, and will demonstrate at least 3 years experience of working within a similar commercial design engineering environment utilising the SolidWorks package. 

You will possess exhaustive experience in the design and implementation of complex solutions, ideally gained within a multidisciplinary environment such as Mechatronics, and knowledge of mechanical systems (such as gears, bearings, lead screws and linkages etc), as well as fluid and heat transfer systems. Experience of both time and project management, preferably from a DFM background and knowledge of injection moulding, volume production, electronics and electrical interfaces will also prove distinctly advantageous.
