The successful candidate will combine creative lateral thinking abilities and excellent technical skills, ideally gained from a broad base of industry experience, and you will be fully conversant with market scoping and concept generation through to fruition, alongwith being able to demonstrate proven hands on 3D design experience using Solidworks and rendering software skills experience. With excellent leadership and communication skills allowing you to develop relationships throughout the UK and China operations, you will additionally possess knowledge and experience gained within the associated tooling sector (including injection moulding, aluminium extrusions and castings) and will have considerable skills in the creation of models to prove or disprove initial ideas as well as being able to present such solutions to both internal and external team audiences. Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team, you will occasionally travel to meet suppliers when considered beneficial to the manufacturing and production process and allowing you to provide additional support to the product development teams, so flexibility to travel is also a requirement for the position. With a genuine passion for keeping abreast of materials, technologies and trends and an enthusiastic, motivated (and motivational) approach to projects, you will be a logical and organised individual with proven strategic abilities and of course exceptional design skills gained within an similarly innovative new product development environment. You will be ESSENTIALLY be both first class degree qualified in a relevant Product Design, Manufacturing or Engineering related discipline, and able to demonstrate at least 2 years experience in both man management and the design and development of all types of plastic and metal components and assemblies for mass production, with proven success in the delivery of complex projects within a fast paced environment and experience gained within the retail market proving additionally advantageous, as will experience of dealing with electronics or electromechanical assemblies, textiles and soft goods.
