Description: Experienced and proactive Spares Controller and Buyer required for market leading solutions provided.
Salary: to £35k+ generous benefits
Our client is recognized as one of the UK’s market leaders in the area of automated materials handling solutions, and they are now looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Spares Controller Buyer to become part of an established and highly successful team.
Reporting to the Field Service Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be tasked with providing both internal and external customers with accurate information that will allow them to cost and order spare parts, ensuring that all spare parts
requirements are loaded onto the ERP system for supply by approved vendors, and that stock levels are maintained to provide an ex-stock service within agreed inventory values.
Working as part of a similarly professional and motivated team environment, you will purchase all required spares from an approved vendor database and achieve the most commercially advantageous pricing and service agreements with them, whilst providing price and delivery quotations to both internal and external customers including associated import charges and carriage charges. You will liaise with the external partner responsible for the management of the company Spares inventory, and load parts orders on to vendors through ERP, expediting the delivery of overdue and/or priority parts as required and updating internal customers with regards to any changes in delivery times, whilst escalating any issues that are unable to be resolved.
Other responsibilities will include managing PO queries and maintaining stock levels to support ex-stock service within budget inventory values and associated records on the ERP systems, whilst performing stock obsolescence reports reviews and conducting regular ongoing inventory audits with external partners. You will manage the dispatch of goods for internal and external customer by raising dispatch notes and issuing them to the Stores team, and will raise the necessary paperwork for all international shipments as required, so proficiency in the MS Suite of packages is essential for the position.
Additionally, you will provide weekly and monthly reports to managers, including cost savings achieved in the period, and raise purchase orders to send to suppliers and Control Warranty returns as appropriate, and will be instrumental in the creation and maintenance of both relevant procedures and key performance indicators as well as in the participation of internal audits on an ongoing basis.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a suitably organised, meticulous and experienced Spares Controller Buyer to utilise their existing skills within a dynamic, professional and fast paced environment, and will suit only the most committed of individuals able to effectively prioritise and communicate at all levels within a varied and challenging operation committed to the highest levels of customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. Previous experience in all aspects of spares
management, materials planning and procurement within a technical or engineering environment are essential for the position, as is a full clean driving licence and the flexibility to travel to supplier sites when required.
