Our client, established for more than a decade and renowned for providing precision engineered laser profiles to a diverse range of engineering and manufacturing sectors, are imminently taking delivery of their latest state of the art €1m tube laser cutting machine which will provide the latest cutting capabilities of round tube, box, irregular and rectangular section, flat, universal beam and angle iron in ferrous and non-ferrous materials, and as a result are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly self motivated and articulate experienced Tube Laser Engineer to compliment their established and successful team.
This is a business critical role, with the successful candidate being tasked with leading the operation, planning and sales technical support of the new machine to achieve the desired major contribution to the business, through maximising the utilisation of this impressive new technology and demonstrating its’ capabilities to both new and existing customers at every opportunity.
To be considered for this varied and challenging opportunity, the successful candidate will have a full clean driving licence and will have attained a relevant engineering qualification (HND or above), and will demonstrate strong commercial awareness as well as a proven hands-on engineering background. You will possess the essential dynamic communication skills necessary to operate as a change agent within the business, building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external customers and demonstrating the ability to both implement and maintain changes in a proactive continuous improvement environment.
Additionally you will possess high levels of computer literacy and experience in CAD Design software (SolidWorks or SolidEdge proving advantageous) and a sound appreciation of quality control and methods within a manufacturing environment. Attention to detail, tenacity and strong organisational skills are additional key traits that will ensure success in this challenging post.
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will undertake extensive training in Italy on the programming of the BLM Adige LT8 Lasertube machinery, before managing the cutting schedule in line with customer requirements whilst maximising workload capacity. Additionally you will provide quotations for customers using dedicated in house software and provide timing and nesting information associated with them.
You will also be responsible for supporting the successful sales team with both technical advice and presentations to customers for the creative use of tubes and sections, so excellent communication skills are a prerequisite for the role, and for working with customers to develop parts for more efficient manufacture drawing on your previous production environment experience, whilst assisting the company buyer in MRP activities and managing the tube shopfloor staffing capacity as required.
