Description: Experienced senior control systems professional required by our market leading specialist automation solutions provider client.
Our client is recognized as one of the UK’s market leaders in the provision of automated systems and materials handling solutions, and as a result of continued success and an ongoing impressive programme of strategic growth, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer to complement their established and highly professional team.
Based in a prestigious Head Office environment and working core hours of 8.15am to 4.15pm Monday to Friday, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development of PLC based control solutions for a diverse range of company products and working closely with the electrical design, project, systems and solutions teams as well as other departments to produce integrated design solutions on time and within budget to the relevant and applicable standards.
Taking a proactive role in the development and delivery of Integrated Projects, including leading design reviews and hands on control issue resolution where necessary, you will support the Control Systems Team Leader to provide costings to support pre-sale activity relating to Control System activities (time and material to deliver control systems work packages), including supporting the development of schedules, and will lead the development of Control System solutions for specific Integrated projects, to ensure that the business continues to provide best in class solutions, whilst seamlessly integrating with partner technology solutions and meeting lifelong maintenance requirements.
As a Senior Control Systems Engineer you will ensure that Control Systems are developed and deployed to relevant national and international standards to support the UKCA (formally CE) marking of integrated solutions and will develop standard PLC software blocks and deploy on company projects in conjunction with the Control System Team Leader and other Controls Engineers and will produce accurate and complete functional specifications for each specific project you are assigned to.
You will also assist the Electrical Design Team in the specification and development of the electrical design and support the Project Engineering team in the development of integrated systems by providing information on control system elements.
To be considered for this varied and challenging role within a genuine market-leading operation, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be a degree qualified engineer in a relevant controls or electrical engineering discipline with at least five years of experience in developing, testing and commissioning Siemens PLC / Siemens TIA software.
